Near continuous sync

For the past number of months now (maybe longer?) Garmin Connect mobile appears to be continuously syncing with connected devices.

Most noticeable with fenix 6 Pro (as it's on all the time) but also similarly with various Edge units when they are powered on. Syncs for the normal amount of time (5-30 seconds), then syncs again say 30-120 seconds later, then again, then again, etc.

On one of the Edge units it seems to repeat the latest sync message pop-up over and over again. For example, it seemed to related to segments (getting updated), so I reduced my favourite Strava segments down to just a handful, and ones I knew wouldn't be updated all that often. Still the same. So I reduced it down to zero. Now I get the message "All segments deleted" pop up on the Edge every few minutes.

Force-close Connect on the iPhone and all is fine. Anyone else experience the same?

Might try deleting and reinstalling the Connect iOS app. Any specific steps I should do in order to cause the least faff / disruption in terms of reconnecting my various devices?
