235 not syncing with garmin connect

I’ve iOS 15.5 in an iPhone 12. My garmin 235 isn’t syncing with Connect app. I keep getting the transfer failed notification when I’ve added the passcode. I’ve deleted, readded, reset factory settings on watch and still not working. Any ideas? Is this watch still being supported in terms of working with later IOS?

  • First make sure to "forget" the Garmin from the iPhone's Bluetooth settings. Then only use Garmin Connect to add the 235 back to the app.

See if this video helps with the rest.

  • Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried all these steps and it’s still not syncing. My Bluetooth devices are showing as the forerunner is connected - It’s just not recognising in garmin connect. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app too.

Just to confirm, you need to remove all Garmin devices from the Bluetooth settings of your iPhone first.

    • Verify that you're running the latest release of Garmin Connect Mobile iOS.
    • In the Garmin Connect app remove Garmin - More > Garmin Devices > select your Garmin device > Remove Device
    • On your iPhone go to Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device
    • If you have any other mobile devices (phones, tablets) nearby and paired with the Garmin, also do the same there - Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device
    • Restart iPhone
    • Restart Garmin
    • Place your Garmin in pairing mode - depends on model, but usually hold MENU > select Connectivity > Phone > Pair Phone.
    • Pair using Garmin Connect, not your phone's Bluetooth settings.

If still no joy, contact Garmin Support directly. The options to use chat or phone call works best.
