Connecting to Outlook calendar rather than ios calendar

Hi,

I'd love if my Garmin Fenix 7S could connect to my Outlook calendar (which I have through my MS 365 account), rather than the native Apple ios calendar on my iphone, which I don't use. I have managed to connect the watch so the Garmin calendar appears in my Outlook calendar. But I would love if my Outlook calendar appointments would also show on my watch. Instead, the watch is connecting to the ios calendar that I no longer use. Any tips?

Thanks.

  • Connect the GC account directly to the Office 365 Calendar

    Garmin Connect

  • I believe that you need to add Outlook to iPhone as an account. There are several tutorials on the web that might help you with that.

  • Thanks so much for your reply.

    I have done this already.

The Garmin activities are showing up - as a separate calendar in Outlook on my laptop that I can overlay ...

and merged into the calendar itself if I access my Outlook calendar on the web.You can see below the activities I manually put on my Outlook calendar on the left side of each day and the ones generated from Garmin beside them on the right.

    So that's all good.

The issue I'm having is on the watch, where I'd find it really handy to have my day's appointments from my Outlook showing up. None of my Outlook appointments are displaying. I don't use the calendar native to the iPhone and had deleted it off the phone. However, the calendar on my watch still seems to be drawing from it somehow. I noticed this because an old birthday (no longer on my new Outlook calendar) appeared on the calendar on my watch. I confirmed what was happening by re-downloading the iPhone calendar from the app store and putting in a "Test item" appointment for Saturday, May 13. Sure enough, it appeared on my watch (despite me having again deleted the native iPhone calendar from my phone).

Note this "Test item" is not on my Outlook calendar and none of my actual appointments in Outlook and showing on the watch. Any ideas on how I can get the watch to draw from the correct calendar?

I hope what I'm asking makes sense? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

  • Thanks. It must be something  to do with how I have the calendar set up on the phone. Will take a another look at the settings.

  • I figured it out! On the iPhone, the old iphone calendar was still set to be the default. Thank you both for your help - you got me thinking through the process.
