Delete incorrect FTP historical values on Garmin Connect

In the menu Garmin Connect --> performance stats --> FTP you can choose to display the history of 4 weeks, 12 weeks or 1 year. In my case I have a Garmin power meter (Rally RS100) since December 2022. Surprisingly, in the history I see an incorrect value of 400 watts. The first date I see this value is on 6 august 2018 and from that date, it repeats itself frequently with a dot on the timeline. When I select activities that should refer to those 'dots', there is no information on FTP or power values (which is correct, because I didn't have a power meter in that period).

My questions:

- Why is Garmin connect showing these false FTP values and why does it repeat itself from time to time?

- How can I delete those erroneous and annoying dots?

- Do other people see this too / is this a known bug?

thanks!

  • Thank you for your report. To investigate this may we contact you via email? What Country are you located in?

  • Hi Sara, of course. I live in the Netherlands. Is my e-mail address visible for you?

  • Hi - i have the same issue with my device. Can I remove a data point? When I started my garmin 1040 it defaulted to a 500+ ftp. Can you please advise how to remove?

  • I have the same problem - recently at the end of an activity my Edge 300 popped up a message on screen saying wow you have a new FTP of 937W or something equally silly. It offered to accept this newThinkingTP which I rejected, but in Garmin Connect it still lodged in my stats. Since then all my training metrics are screwed in Garmin Connect - even since I manually corrected my FTP back to 310W in the Thinkingwer Zones menu - so now Garmin Connect keeps telling me my Training Status is unproductive and that my fitness is decreasing almost daily, despite me cycling more and feeling stronger over the past Thinkingmonths than I have since last year. Strava fitness tracker backs this up (working off the same raw activity data off my Garmin devices). When I look at my Garmin Connect FTP history the erroneous numbers are still in there. I tried the same fixes that others have tried (deleting the activity etc) but it seems that Garmin Connect is too stupid to allow rogue FTP data to be corrected. As a result my Edge 530/Forerunner255 combo has now become a useless expensive ecosystem for tracking my fitness...

    Garmin PLEASE FIX THIS

  • I also have this issue.

  • I have this problem too. I think my incorrect values were defaults from the Garmin tacx app.

  • I have this problem as well - what can be done to fix it?

  • hi Sara, may you post a generic solution here, for everybody? the root cause obviously is, that Garmin Connect uses some nonsense default data, in my case it's 245 watts (but a reset called from my new Forerunner 965 set it to 200 for a while - and now back to 245).

so, in my case it started at 2018 july - i think i bought my Forerunner 935 back then.

it is NOT individual issue. happens with everybody, in all countries.

i bought my first powermeter today, and want to get rid of this nonsense data.

    thank you!
