Inaccurate Heart Rate Zone Display/Graph

Anyone find that the two don’t actually match up? If I do an easy run and my HR goes above 132, the display gauge hits the “green zone” and at the end of my run it is calculated as Zone 3. If I go above HR 150, it says I’m in the “orange zone” and is calculated as Zone 4. Am I just reading into this all wrong?

I have an Epix 2 and have ran with it connected to a Polar H10. My calculated LTHR is 168 with a max HR of 188. Based on Garmin’s calculations, my HR Zones should be as follows:

HEART RATE ZONES
Lactate Threshold (168)
* Zone 1 Recovery: 122-133
* Zone 2 Easy: 134-148
* Zone 3 Aerobic: 149-158
* Zone 4 Threshold: 158-173
* Zone 5 V.O2 Max 174+ (Max HR 188)

Beats Per Minute
* Zone 1 Recovery: 122-134
* Zone 2 Easy: 135-148
* Zone 3 Aerobic: 149-159
* Zone 4 Threshold: 160-174
* Zone 5 V.O2 Max: 174+ (Max HR 188)

  • my HR Zones should be as follows:

    Did you verify they are really set like that, directly on your watch? Also be aware that there are up to four different HR Zone tables - the general one, and then a separate table for Running, Cycling, and Swimming. If the running HRZ table is defined, it will be used for your runs. If not, the general table will be used. And then, if the auto-detection of Max HR and LTHR is enabled, and the table is based on one of those values, the table may change dynamically after any activity where a new value is detected.
