Different distances, same walk on two watches

My wife and I took a stroll together. We both started the same activity at the same moment. Upon ending the activity something strange happened

My wife’s watch FR255 recorded 5,33 km in 1:36:18.

My watch FR245 recorded 4,57 km in 1:03:14.

How can this be? We were together the whole time. We also both have set up auto-pause when we halt (when we have to wait for the kids).

Anyone familiar with this problem? How do I fix it?

Turn auto pause off. It often mess up the distance for activities. Your times are different so your watches did pause differently.

You should also always wait until you get a GPS lock before you press…

Same thing for us this morning. I took my car and did the same run. And she was right !! Not me. 5.03 km for her and for me my watch show 4.33 km ????

Perhaps I have t waited long enough for the GPS lock to establish. It’s the only explanation I can think of.
