Open water not syncing with connect

Garmin swim 2 measured all activities fine until a couple of weeks ago - all activities are measured but when synced to garmin connect all show except the open water which shows on the watch but not on connect. Any ideas??

Swim activities can sometimes get corrupted, sometimes due to the HR monitor being used. You can try a manual upload to Garmin Cannect web. How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?

If you get any message other than Import Complete, then there is a problem with the file. In that case, please attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Or upload the fit file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

Hi seilogramp Same issue, just did an Open Water Swim and recorded on my garmin forerunner 955 with HRM Pro heartrate. The activity shows on my watch but will not sync with garmin. I have tried to manually upload the file into connect but receive the error "We don't support the file type you tried to import". If you're able to assist, that would be absolutely awesome! Attatched the file. The 955 and HRM PRo are up to date firmware. THANK YOU!

As for the possible cause, HRM-Pro, Pro Plus, Tri, and Swim will sometimes corrupt activity fit files

Use the HRM download feature only after an activity where it was not possible to wear the watch
During the HRM-Pro download process keep the strap and watch in close proximity
If issues persist even after the firmware update, contact Garmin Support

Continued to have issues after, spoke with Garmin support and opened the battery compartment. Lots of corrosion. That'll do it!

It happened again.... I had a good run for while but I've just got another corrupt file for open water swim...

If you're able to assist that would be awesome! I realise im asking a lot...

Hi seilogramp , the same issue here, pool swim 965 with HRM pro plus, cant sync GC, appreciate to have a look if .fit file could be fixed, thank you sosoososososso much!

Fixed using Fit File Repair Tool

As noted earlier in this thread, the HRM-Pro, Pro Plus, Tri, and Swim will sometimes corrupt activity fit files

Use the HRM download feature only after an activity where it was not possible to wear the watch
Update the HRM firmware Updating Software on the HRM-Pro/Pro Plus
During the HRM-Pro download process keep the strap and watch in close proximity
If issues persist even after the firmware update, contact Garmin Support
