Media Error problem

I have noticed that when I carry my iPhone with me while walking or running, if my Forerunner 945 is tracking my activity, I frequently get a Media Error message on my watch and my watch reverts back to the normal watch face. When I go back to the tracking face by pressing the Start button, the stats are messed up. I regularly refresh my watch by turning it off and on but this does not help. Other than not carrying my phone, is there a fix for this problem? I called Garmin tech and did some troubleshooting, but this didn’t solve the problem.

From what I can tell, seems to be related to the music player. You can try resetting the watch and/or removing the media player app.

As I mentioned in my question, resetting the watch has not helped resolve the problem. Will I be able to play music from the watch if I remove the media player app?

Sorry, I meant resetting to defaults, not just power-cycling the watch - Forerunner 945 Owners Manual - Resetting All Default Settings (garmin.com)

Does resetting delete all settings such as added watch faces and customized activity tracker faces? Does removing the media player disable the watches ability to play music?
