Garmin Connect iPhone Battery Drain in iOS version 4.64.1.2

I'm using a Fenix 7 and an Inreach Mini 2 along with the Garmin Connect app v4.64.1.2 running in iOS on an iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 16.3.1

The battery usage by the app since the last update about a week ago has become quite aggressive -

The next nearest thing only uses 5% - and since I took those screenshots it's gone up to 21%.

Any ideas why it's suddenly become such a battery drain? I've tried killing the process by swiping up which works, but that shouldn't be a long term fix.

I have the same problem: both my iphone an my wifes iphone having the same problem. We both use two Garmin Edge 830 and the battery drain is massive. Additionally are both iphone very unresponsive as long as they are connected to Garmin Edge

Same for me. Only solution that worked was to uninstall the app.

Phone was active 100% of the day, had to charge 2 times a day, restarting phone or watch didnt help.

We have the same problem, 3 h cycling and connected to our edge 1030 brings the battery to zero; that is not acceptable!

Huge battery drain on iOS with Fenix 6X. Best you contact customer support by phone and complain. I did, and they admitted this is a known issue. No solution yet. Only complaints will result in action. Posts here are not dealt with. Not now. Not ever.
