If your Garmin device supports Sleep Score and you’re using the Connect app on an iPhone, I believe that the Sleep Score widget is breaking your ability to use the Apple “swipe to go back” gesture in most of the app.
You may just believe that it doesn’t work in the app, but it should for all widgets. Tapping into the Sleep Score widget breaks it across the rest of the app.
To replicate:
- Force quit the Connect app and reopen it to ensure a fresh start.
- Enter into a widget that is NOT Sleep Score, e.g. Body Battery or Heart Rate. You should be able to swipe from the left edge of the phone to go back to the main menu in Connect.
- Enter into the Sleep Score widget.
- Swiping to go back to the main menu will no longer work. Try it. Once you’ve confirmed it doesn’t work - it will cycle through the different days Sleep data instead - use the Back < button in the top left to go back.
- Go back into whatever widget you went into in step 2 and try again. You will no longer be able to swipe back from this widget either, swipe back is now broken across the whole app.
- Force quit and reopen to restore normal functionality.
If you can replicate this, please like this post or comment. Garmin has replicated this, but because I am the only one to report it it doesn’t seem to be being worked on. As Garmin can replicate it, and I can replicate on my partner’s phone, my theory is pretty much everyone who has a device that supports Sleep Score has this issue, but maybe just assumes swipe back doesn’t work in Connect. It should!
There are many places throughout settings screens etc where it doesn’t work at all and never has, but at least in the main functionality in the widgets it is supposed to.
For me Sleep Score is something I check every day, and every day I have to do this little dance of force-quitting the app and reopening it if I want to not give myself injuries from weird hand movements trying to reach for the back button at the top of the screen!
Thanks to anyone who can help support!
