Garmin Connect won't add Fenix 7s sapphire solar

I recently got a new iPhone (14Pro) and cannot seem to get my Fenix 7s Sapphire Solar successfully paired. It wants to pair with the phone's bluetooh and immediately offers to connect, but will NOT pull the watch up within the Connect app itself.

I have tried:

Restarting watch and phone separately

Forgetting watch from bluetooth settings

Checking that all apps are up to date

Denying the bluetooth offer to connect to wait for the Connect app to pair (it just keeps offering to bluetooth connect with the code listed) - if I DO accept, I can get texts on the watch, but it never shows up within the Garmin Connect app, so none of my data is uploading there.

I am stumped. Help!

  • I recently got a new iPhone

Is the old phone still around? Need to remove the fenix from Garmin as well as forget in the iPhone bluetooth settings.

    Otherwise, check this video

  • Old phone is not around.  I did remove it there prior to trying to connect to the new phone and have tried it with old phone off, and miles away.

It is just stuck on the "searching" page and won't find it within the app, despite bluetooth being able to connect. It is stuck on the "we are having trouble locating your device" page within Connect, with the bluetooth pairing request pop-up window on top of it.

  • Resolved by repeating this process until it worked:

-Deleted Connect and IQ apps from phone

-"Forgot" watch from bluetooth settings in phone

    -Restarted watch & phone

    -Reinstalled Connect

Super weird, glitchy app - had no issues on the iPhone 11pro, but once upgraded to the 14pro, it was a beast to install! Seems to be fine now that the app was finally able to add the watch back. Prior to that, only the phone bluetooth would connect, and some data was being pulled in (activities), but the watch wouldn't show up in devices in Connect.
