I had third party apps downloaded on my Garmin and they are now listed under the “removed” section even though I never deleted them. They no longer show up on my watch to record an activity. When I try to install them again they won’t download.

You did not tell which watch model you have. Visit the page of the concerned app in the Connect IQ store, and verify whether they are still compatible with your device. It could be that due to an upgrade of the firmware, the apps are no more compatible, and need to be recompiled first. If so, then contact the developers, and ask them doing so - usually they can do it rather promptly.
