Fitness Age, vigorous days.

My fitness age under my V02 max has suddenly changed drastically, and the new recommendation is that I “increase vigorous days”. My intensity minutes are 400-600% above average on a regular basis. I understand 5 continuous vigorous intensity minutes is the qualification…. I have that. I guess this is less of a question and more of a “fix it”, as I’ve seen similar post from 10 months ago.

  • I experience exactly the same issue

  • Mark,

unfortunately I had to figure it out on my own: however I do have the solution. I stopped weighing myself / inputting weight because I’m at my current weight and BMI goal. Apparently that information being stale, causes an issue in age calculation, although it makes no sense why it would miss calculate / void vigorous days all together, weight is an irrelevant topic in that category. So if you are like me and use calipers instead of a scale, just go weigh yourself and Input the data manually or use your smart scale.

    Also,

don’t bother with Garmin support chat. I spoke to three different people. The first had no clue and went to transfer me and we ended up disconnected. The second started asking specific information and I guess I didn’t reply fast enough, and was also disconnected. Lastly, I finally got a squared away dude that shot me straight and in short, stated; you are correct, it’s broken, I don’t know why it’s broken or how to fix it but we are pushing a new update out on 2/16 that hopefully will fix it.
