Unable to edit menstrual cycle type

I am currently pregnant but had to edit the starting day of my last period after I added the pregnancy to the app. Once I had changed the cycle type to pregnant, however, I didn't see a way to edit the previous period or due date. I clicked "stop tracking this pregnancy" and confirmed thinking I could go back and edit then add the pregnancy back, but that caused the system to get stuck in pregnancy mode under cycle type, but acting as if I'm on day 42 of my current cycle. When I try to edit the cycle type the button is unresponsive, as is the "stop tracking this pregnancy" text.  I'm also unable to edit the due date, but I dont think this is editable anyway as that was the date I was trying to change in the first place. 

I tried restarting my phone, updating the app today, as well as starting a period on the calendar today then removing it, but the issue persists. I may uninstall and reinstall the app if anyone here thinks that may help and will not lose any data.

I see that this is not the first issue with the pregnancy status being "stuck", but it appears this bug has not been addressed.  How can we report this issue to the developers?  For women who have lost a pregnancy and get reminded to update their pregnancy symptoms even after marking the loss, this can be very painful and should be address with urgency in my opinion.

  • I'm updating this in the hopes that it may help someone else someday. I lost my pregnancy not too long after this post and today (two months later) was trying to track a new cycle, but the pregnancy setting was still frustratingly stuck. I thought I might uninstall and reinstall the app so I searched for info to see if I needed to make any backups.  I learned about the connect.garmin.com website (I've been using Garmin watches for years and only ever used the app!).

    I opened the website on my phone and when I went to the Health and Performance menu to Pregnancy, it said there was a problem and I needed to set up the pregnancy again. Well, the system is ridiculously rigid and I couldn't change the dates at all, but I just clicked through the setup to get it done. Then I stopped tracking it again, and deleted the pregnancy record. 

    When I tried to set cycle tracking back up it balked at me entering my last menstrual period date.  It wouldn't let me back date it, but it wouldn't accept the current date! Gah! I have a feeling if I'd been using a PC to view the site the date selection form field may have been different, but idk.

    Anyway, so I set my cycle tracking to "no period".  I then opened the Connect app and was able to change my tracking back to a regular period with today as the LMP. The data for the last few months is FUBAR'd and I've given up on that, but at least the app is back to tracking correctly! GL!!

  • Hi. I had the SAME problem!! And I just solved it yeeey.

    Try logging in GARMIN CONNECT WEB. And edit it there then go to your garmin app and in my case the app synced itself with my watch and not it is showing all again in the correct way. Before that I couldn't edit my pregnancy cause I clicked by mistake terminate this pregnancy. Not it works SmileGrinning
