created workout but cannot send to my device as this function is shaded out

i have created a new workout to send to my device. i need this to log activities on a challenge. when i try to send to device from the workouts page the function is not available.

please help

What type of workout, and which watch do you own? Not every watch supports every type of workout. Check out the specification, or the user manual of you watch, whether it supports the workouts of the type you are trying to send to it. If it is grayed out, then there is a good chance your watch does not support it.
