The beginning of December, my HRV became low and eventually dropped into the red. It had always been balanced before, but I never paid attention to the exact numbers. I was feeling fatigued so I decided to stop training until my numbers improved. My training load is almost always “very high” or “over reaching”. It is very easy to push into that status, but I decided to follow the recommendations. My HRV had climbed up around 32 by the end of the year. I began training again on 1/2 and by 1/5 load status had climbed into over reaching and HRV dropped back into the upper 20’s. I’m almost 58 years old and in very good shape for my age and have always worked out. At this age I am more of a higher rep with lesser weight rather than heavy weight to exhaustion.
