Peloton Data for Exercise Load

When will Garmin Connect use the data from Peloton to calculate Exercise Load?

  • Exercise load is calculated by heart rate so you can use it today. Just log your activity on the Peloton with a Garmin device and you will get the exercise load in Garmin Connect.

  • When I load the Peloton activity from Strava it has HR in it - why does it not calculate Load in that way?  If I also collect on Garmin it’s duplicate and doesn’t have power/etc. Super annoying that they don’t talk to each other.

  • why does it not calculate Load in that way?

Because the Exercise Load is being calculated by your watch, not by the phone (or on the server). And since you did not record the activity on your watch, the load was not calculated. And since Peloton did not calculate and pass it to Garmin either, it is missing. Use your watch to record the activity, as wrote

  • Thanks - got it.  I guess my question is - why doesn’t to app do it for imported data?

  • I guess my question is - why doesn’t to app do it for imported data?

Because the app does not do it at all (not even for own data, coming from the watch). It is the watch that does the calculation. There is no postprocessing of the data in the app.
