How to get accurate sleep readings?

I have found my original Garmin Venu SQ, and the one that replaced it after different issue, has never measured my sleep correctly. It’s most apparent when I have insomnia- it will record sleep (and in various stages) when I am actively awake. For multiple hours, like 4 hours of recording sleep that didn’t happen. I can even get up and walk around and it doesn’t show me as awake.
I am trying to use the body battery more to help with monitoring fatigue from health issues. But without accurately recording sleep, it’s never accurate. How can I fix this?

FitBit’s sleep monitoring was very accurate, but I disliked most other things about it. But if I can’t fix this issue with my Garmin, I may have to consider switching. Which I really don’t want to do! Any help here? Thanks!
