Running plan and now unproductive

Hi All,

training for a half, on week 3 following the coaching advice, now unproductive and have a declining VO2 max. Apparently not enough anaerobic - any suggestions?

  • Unproductive means "Your training load is at a good level, but your fitness is decreasing. Your body may be struggling to recover, so pay close attention to your overall health, including stress, nutrition and rest."

    Fitness is your VO2 max.

It takes time to build VO2 max. If you just continue to train you will probably get a higher VO2 max after a while. It could be just -1 or even less for the VO2 max value and you will get the unproductive status.

Anaerobic activities are high intensity activities with high heart rate. Typically intervals. Use a chest strap since the wrist heart rate sensor is slow in picking up quick changes in heart rate and can often (in my experience) show a little low for higher heart rates.
