Connect app keeps prompting to add or pair

When I launch the connect app I'm asked to add or pair a device. I've had my watch already paired for about two years now. Why does it keep asking me? If I delete and re-add the app will I lose all my data?

Have the same issue. I'm running IOS 15.6.1. App up-to-date, devices visible in the "Garmin Devices" section but when Garmin Connect is launched it asks me to add a new device. Why???
