Transfer steps data FROM Apple Health TO Garmin Connect

I don't wear my Garmin (Fenix 7X) Watch unless I am working out because it is rather large and masculine. I love it but it isn't an everyday watch for a female. My iPhone is a more accurate indicator of my steps and I want Garmin to pull in my step data from Apple Health. My Garmin Connect and Apple Health are connected but I cant get Garmin to show my accurate step count from Apple Health. Anyone know how to do this?

  • Only steps recorded by a Garmin device count. No imports, and no manual entry allowed. Keep the watch in your pocket, or in the handbag, if you want to keep track of your steps.

  • As Trux said, you can't pull steps into Garmin Connect from a non-Garmin device (you are welcome to make your suggestion here: ideas but I would not hold your breath).

However, if all you are looking to do is track your total steps, the good news is that that is one of the VERY few pieces of data that Garmin correctly sends to Apple Health.   However, they do use fixed 15 minute increments, so you are likely to get errors introduced because of how large of a time gap they use for each sample.  (your phone will use spans as small as a few seconds if that's all you walked for).    This does mean that you would need to use an app the references Apple Health data to show your count (which Garmin does not), but you would get a total that includes both Garmin and Apple data (and any other device that correctly records to HealthKit).
