Garmin Connect won't connect to Edge 1040 with iOS 16.0

I have been using an iPhone 10 running iOS 15.7. It connects to Edge 1040 without any problems. Recently I upgrade my phone to iPhone 14 with iOS 16.0. Garmin Connect can't find the Edge device. I know bluetooth is working as my Wahoo app can connect to my Wahoo smart trainer. I know Edge 1040 is working because it can connect to the smart trainer for power data. Is there a problem with Garmin Connect running on iOS 16?

I still have my iPhone 10. It continues to work with Edge 1040.

  • The old phone may be interfering with the connection with the new one. Try completely removing the Edge from the old phone's app as well as having it forget the Edge as a known device in the bluetooth list. On the Edge, have it forget the iphone 10 in the phone settings. Then re-pair it to the new iphone as if it were a new device.

  • That works.  Thanks.  Apparently an Edge device can only pair to one phone at a time.

  • I have an iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 16.1.2, and my Edge 530 will not connect. It can find the device, but as soon as I choose it within the Connect app, it immediately faults. This is an endless loop... to be clear, my Edge has never been connected to any other device, and this is a first time setup issue. I just installed the lastest firmware for the Edge 530 today, and still have the same problem.
