Downloaded workouts in wrong language

English iPhone and app is mostly in English but some text is in Mandarin.

My phone was set to Mandarin for a day a month ago but has been changed back to English. Deleting and reinstalling the app does not help.

I should add that the text is still in Mandarin when creating the workout on the Garmin Connect website on my PC, even when viewed on the website without the phone being involved at all.

You will need to download workouts that are written in English. Workouts already downloaded in the wrong language will not translate when you change the settings. If the interface of GC Web is still in Mandarin, change the language settings at https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings

And also make sure you are not connected to connect.garmin.cn instead of connect.garmin.com. If you created your GC account in China, then it is residing on Chinese servers, that are isolated separately from the rest of the world. Likely due to the the local policies about the state censorship.

My account was not created in China. My girlfriend just changed the language on my phone as a joke. The workout was not generated while the phones language was in Mandarin. I did try quitting the training program and regenerating a few times but it didn’t work. I did try fiddling with the language a few times.

However it’s working now. I was trying to generate a half marathon training program. I quit that and generated a 10k training program which came out in English. Then I regenerated the half marathon training program and it came out in English.
