I just got the forerunner 255. The watch auto detected that I did HIIT training and gave me notification after I did it. However the activity doesn’t show on my timeline. How do I add this activity? What am I missing?

FYI. MoveIQ is on.
Move IQ will not create any real activities. You must manually start the activities.
It is better to just turn off Move IQ since it causes confusion.

Thank you. Does this apply to all Garmin devices? Manually starting activity each time is a big drawback for me. What’s the point of having auto detect function if it doesn’t get added as activity with appropriate analytics? My whoop band does that intuitively without any manual intervention and gives me option to edit just Incase activity type is not accurately recorded. Put the whoop band on and forget it. Everything works. I was going to switch to Garmin from whoop and now I don’t think I am. I am curious if Apple Watch ultra is the same?
The more advanced watches do not have the auto start feature. I think that most of the Vivo and Venu watches got it. They are more like lifestyle watches and not that focused on training and advanced analytics.
Check the manual for the watches and search for: Auto Activity Start.
