How can I log a workout while wearing a weighted vest?

I occasionally run with a 12 lb weighted vest on to add variety/difficulty. When I do, Garmin tells me that my performance condition is low, and sometimes that I am in an “unproductive” cycle because my measurables show that I am struggling more than usual (which is correct, but not because of inadequate rest). Is there a way to more accurately record this kind of workout? I still want the usual run stats at the end (hr, elevation, splits, etc.) 

  • The only way I can think of, is recording it as Hiking instead - you will have the stats you wrote (hr, elevation, splits, ...) and it will not negatively impact your running stats. Not sure what it will do to the training status, though.
