Garmin connect

Why isn’t the training status widget updated in Garmin  connect  when conducting training events using garmin coach?  I’m using garman coach to get ready for a 10k and my training status keep decrementing because it says I’m not training.

  • Is your training status not getting updated or is it decrementing? What is your training status now? If it is anything but "No status" you are getting updates.

Training status basically needs two things: VO2 max and training load. If you get updated values for them you will get an updated training status.

  • Its been high before I started training, but now I’m running only on the coach schedule and it continues to decrement even though I’m running outside 3 time a week. My VO2 keeps dropping even though I should be getting high from the training.

  • If you get new VO2 max values then those are the values the watch calculates. It takes time to build a higher VO2 max so you can't expect it to just increase all the time.

  • Have you looked at the forum for the device itself. Some of the recent firmware upgrades have had a negative impact on TE and other metrics which could be impacting this.

  • I will thanks.  That makes sense. I think there is a programming disconnect between training status not being updated after conducting trading events under Garmin coach.

  • But you are getting updates to the training status, right? Then everything is working. It is just that your training load isn't high enough. Post the graph for 7-Day load or Acute load.

Also check the training load for your activities with Garmin Coach.

  • No. I’m not getting training status updates from activities in last four weeks since all my activities are conducted through garmin coach.  The activity is reflected in garmin coach and on connect as a new activity each day; however, it doesn’t show any improvement in training status, which it should giving my improved conditioning.  Not sure how to paste the acute load into this post. Doesn’t copy and paste the picture.

  • Take a screenshot and insert it into the post. I usually take a screenshot on the phone and then let Google Photos sync it to the backend servers. After that I can insert the image from the computer.

See the different status you can get. "Fitness" is your VO2 max. If you look at your VO2 max trend and your training load trend you should see which status you should get.
