Multisport, how to add HIIT?

So my Multisport activity is running for about 15 mins as a warm-up, followed by a workout, and then I go on a run again. When creating the multisport activity, I cannot find HIIT or anything similar at all. Why is that? I checked the forum and noticed people recommend using Cardio instead, but Cardio is calculating way too many calories per minute, so that's a mess.

How do I fix that?

  • I checked and you can't add HIIT or Strength to a multisport activity. Maybe it got something to do with the use of the lap key to switch to next activity type, but it is probably the same with yoga and pilates and those can be added. I did a test with yoga and pilates and the lap key will just move on the next activity instead of moving to the next move or pose. Garmin might have forgot to remove those from multisport.

What you can do is use the auto multisport and then you can switch to HIIT. By just switching activity type you will automatically create a multisport activity. There is no need to prepare a multisport profile unless you want transition time, repeating of the activities etc.

  • Hello,

Could you please tell me how to "use the auto multisport" ?

I can't find this function on my watch/in the documentation.

    Thanks !

    1. Start any activity (Running in the case described in the OP)
    2. When completed press the GPS button to stop it, but instead of saving, select the option Change Sport
    3. Select the second activity (HIIT in this case), and start it.

When completed and saved, both activities will be stored as a Multisport session

  • Edit : find it through "Hot key" setup ! Thanks !!!

Sorry, I don't have the option "Change Sport"' ; only restart, save, restrart later, return back to start, or ignore.

If I long press the START button, all I have is record position.

    It's a Fenix 7.

    Did I missed something ?

    Thanks.

  • On other watches that I am familiar with, the option Change Sport is directly in the Activity menu. I do not know why it is not there on Fenix 7.

  • A hotkey is the quickest method. You can also hold middle left button during an activity and select change sport.
