Emails threatening to delete Garmin account - scam?

I am receiving emails about my Garmin account being deleted if I don’t log in. Is this a scam? And if it is deleted, will this delete my whole profile from garmin connect? I don’t log in often but use the connect app to look at my activity almost daily. Anyone got any thoughts on this please?

They are scam emails. You don't have to worry about your account being deleted.

It's a phishing scam trying to steal your login credentials! I can 100% guarantee you that email contains a URL link to supposedly login to GC right? Well guess what? That link won't take u to Garmin Connect. It'll take you to a fake site that will gladly record your username & password. Never click links in email/SMS and then type in information. Always type the address yourself so you know the site you're going to IS THE SITE you are going to.

What would a scammer do with your GC login credentials? Just curious...there's nothing in it like payment details or anything of commercial value in there. They could ask for money to get your login details back but the data isn't that important for a private person...

Many users use the same password in many places. Knowing your email address and password to GC might get them into your email account.

They can also sell the information about your whereabouts to local burglars, who can then rob your house when they see you left for holidays, for a trip, or even just for a walk.

Or sell the email address for spam.

Ok, fair enough. I use different passwords everywhere (created by KeePass) but many people don't, that's true.

In another forum I was asked a similar question but I also saw the text. It talks about Storage and processing of data and that the user hasn't agreed on that. Was it the same in your email? Then it wasn't about deleting the account. It was about deleting the data.
