Zwift, Garmin Connect and Training Status

Hi all.

So I have recently purchased a Fenix 6 Pro, downloaded Garmin Connect and linked my Zwift account to Garmin Connect no problem. My Zwift rides show up on Garmin Connect all good.

However, I’m yet to see the Zwift activities have an effect on Training Load or Recovery etc. As per DC Rainmaker this should be the case.

Am I missing something?

  • When I read about it at DC Rainmaker there are two questions that are repeated in the discussions:

    1) Did the Zwift ride include HR?
    2) Have you uploaded at least one Garmin-created activity since Feb 2021 (with HR)?

To calculate the load your watch needs to download the Zwift data from Garmin Connect and calculate the load and then upload it again to Garmin Connect.

  • I have completed cardio workouts in the gym that have synced to GC. I’m yet to do a run or bike workout.

My main concern is that the Zwift rides don’t show on my 7 day load screen on the Fenix 6 which makes me think they aren’t being counted.

my Zwift rides have been recorded with HR

  • That might be the issue. You haven't recorded any run or bike workouts with a Garmin device.

Here is some more info: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=VxKazDQ2mkAmDoQbJriEBA

"You must have a Training Status capable device that you are actively recording running or cycling activities with"

Physio TrueUp must be enabled on the Fenix, but I think it is on per default. Double check that.
