Cannot upload a Course from Edge 530 to Connect app

On completion of an Activity (a bike ride) I converted it to a Course on my Edge 530. I expected this new Course to appear in the Connect app but despite many syncs it has not done so. Should this have worked as I expected? Is there a way to get the Course from the device to the app?

The courses are not synced from the device to Garmin Connect. Only to the device.

To get the course to Garmin Connect you will have to connect the Edge to a computer. Find the course file and then import…

To get the course to Garmin Connect you will have to connect the Edge to a computer. Find the course file and then import it to Garmin Connect: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/courses

It is probably easier to just create the course in Garmin Connect Web instead: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/

Then you don't have to connect the Edge to a computer and move files around.
