HRM data recorded when carrying in backpack

I use a HRM Pro for all activities. The only time I don’t use it is when it is in my backpack while I cycle to the gym. Does anyone know of a way to either change the source of the heart rate data of the recorded bike ride (from HRM to wrist optical) or to ensure that the HRM doesn’t connect when it’s not being worn. I’m surprised the HRM collects data when it’s not being worn, but today it was recording heart rates in the 230 range.

  • It could be that the belt contact pads were wet, and that the HRM stayed on because of it, and sensed some signals. Dry it well before putting into your bag. You can disconnect it in the watch menu » Sensors & Accessories
