Heya folks, my brother and I are attempting the ADK 46 (3 down) and also hike the many trails of Harriman State Park every weekend. I had hoped to sorta make a square peg fit in a round hole by using my Garmin Edge 820 cycling computer act as my GPS/Trail finder/Map.
First, has anyone done this kind of thing successfully?
Second, I can't get Garmin Connect to recognize the Alltrails downloaded GPX or Fit files for some reason (they are non-cycling courses, but well established hiking trails). I'm trying to download Street and Nye from Alltrails, which is a sinch, but G Connect refuses to recognize the files.
Is there a workaround? I have Alltrails and GC linked but can't find a way to shoot a map over to GC.
I know.. just go buy another GPS device. I will, I'm waiting for a sale on the Instinct Solar. ;)
Oh and FYI maybe it's Garmin being finicky but here is me trying to upload a GPX Track file to GC
