Blood Pressure

I just downloaded the latest version of Garmin Connect for IOS. I was prompted to give permission for Garmin to write blood pressure to Apple Health. Where is Garmin obtaining Blood Pressure metrics from? I could not see any integration partners that they could pull blood pressure. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Considering how upset people get when forerunner gets a feature before fenix, I can only imagine the noise if Garmin rolled something like that out to a Vivofit first.   Especially since it has zero hardware to actually take a reading!  . My guess is that either they are going to announce a cuff at some point, they are going to allow a third party to write to Connect (I'm guessing only for their corporate programs), or somebody on the Connect team just decided it would be cool to be able to track it and it has nothing to do with a new product.  In any event, I wish they would fix the integration they already have before adding more.

I would think there is a new product coming. Dare I speculate that it could be a ring. Who knows but something is up their sleeve 

Agreed! but i did find the post interesting those do look like BP readings on the vivofit 4. I have seen a few watch makers that currently have BP readings from the optical sensor so i wouldn't  say its not possible in some fashion. Now accuracy is probably a whole other topic.
