The points for the challenges do not make sense. I can run a 5-k and earn one point but I only get one point for running 50 miles in a month. It seems like it takes a lot more effort on some challenges than others for the same number of points.

  • A 5 km run gives one point. You must do it during one of 3 days.

50 miles is 80 km. Divide that by 30 days and you get 2.6 km/day. That is a short distance for most runners.

Divide 80 km by 5 km and you get 16 days. Any days during the month.

I wouldn't say 50 miles during a full month is twice as hard as running a 5k. If you are a runner both are very easy to do.

Yes. 50 miles requires more effort than a single 5k run since you need to do 16 5k runs, but it is still an easy task.

  • I agree the points don't make sense.  Why do I get 2 points for walking 30 miles but only 1 point if I run 50 miles in a month?  I understand it's likely similar time commitment.  However it's the same thing with the yoga and strength training monthly challenges.   Why do I get 2 points for 4 hours of yoga but only 1 point for 4 hours of strength training...it's the same time commitment.

Didn't realize how motivated I am by these badges, but wish it made a little more sense.

  • Maybe it is related to how many people that completes the challenge. If lots of people complete it then it was a bit too easy compared to a challenge with few people that manage to complete it.
