iPhone will not stay connected to any of my garmin watches and or consistently show text/calls.

Help! I have two different running watches and an iPhone 12. I am constantly getting notifications they have lost connection to my iPhone (even when not that far away) text/calls don’t consistently come through. All apps and watches have latest update, turned off/on all devices, deleted app from phone and reinstalled, turned on and off blue tooth on everything, all notifications are on,have allowed background to run all the time on phone.. what else works?!
