Sharing a map with data instead of a photo?

Is there a way to share a map of activity with (preferably selected) data into social media instead of using photo? Good Ol' Sports Tracker let me save a map with data as a photo but Garmin Connect seems to allow using only self taken photo and not even share/save that to Photos but in to Files instead. Also Garmin Connect doesn't let you choose any data but uses always distance, time and calories with a different layout only. Or even let you leave some of those out.

I don't want to share a link to activity with all possible info. Just a map with some data on that as a picture.

Am I doing something wrong or are these just "features"?

  • You can make a screenshot of the map, and then share the screenshot - it will be at the top of the library of photos for sharing, so it is a rather quick and easy workaround.

  • Yup, that's a no-brainer workaround but still lacking even those pre defined data fields. I would be happy enough if I could save / share a map with a route and at least those pre defined three data fields. Even better if I could select which three data fields would be put over map.

NINJA EDIT: Or did you suggest that I would take a screenshot of a map with a route, save it and then select that as a "photo" to use... That would work, yes. Few extra steps but definitely doable.

They are there. Open you activity, make a screenshot, tap the share button, select the first photo on the list (the screenshot), select the layout with the data you want, and all is there.

  • Thanx. My brains were little laggish but I eventually managed to figure this out from your first post Smiley
