Garmin Pay - can't add card - should update app (up to date)

Hi, 

I wanted to add a card to my Fenix 6s Pro. 

But I always get the same message after choosing a type of card "Please update your app to the latest version".

It IS the latest version. iOS is latest official update too. I even deleted GC completely and reinstalled it and started from scratch but nothing. I always get the message after choosing a card that I should update to the latest version. 

I have searched everywhere but never have found anyone with this same bug/message. 

What is going wrong here?

    I now hardreseted the phone and my Fenix 6s Pro. Started from scratch. No backup. Nothing, it still says I should update app to use Garmin Pay. I go to add a card, then it recognizes the watch and then there is loading for maybe 30 seconds and then update app.

    WTF. 

    Didn't work with FR255s either. Defintely a Connect problem. Why have I nowhere found this issue.
