What is a smart notification?

I'm new to Garmin Connect. iphone and mac user, now with a vivosmart 4.

I know what a notification is, but what is a smart notification?

    Good question. I mostly get rather stupid notifications from the phone to my Garmin watch. I'd tell it is rather a marketing gimmick, making the feature more fashionable than simply just "notifications". Or perhaps to differentiate between notifications from the watch self, and the notifications from a smart phone over BT.

    Yes, maybe a smart notification is a notification from the smartphone. Unsmart notifications are those directly from the device.
