Vivoactiv 4s intensity minutes not updating consistently from heart rate

Vivoactiv 4s is no longer consistently taking detected activities and counting them towards intensity minutes. Anyone know how to reach tech support?

  • Vivoactiv 4s is no longer consistently taking detected activities and counting them towards intensity minutes.

By default, the threshold for counting Intensity Minutes depends on your average Resting Heart Rate, so if it changed (and usually it changes every day), then the threshold may be higher than it was earlier. You best post a screenshot of your daily HR, and the value of your average Resting HR for given day.

Anyone know how to reach tech support?

I doubt there is anything wrong with the watch, so nothing the Support could do for you, but if you want to contact them, go to https://support.garmin.com

  • Yes, it is what I wrote - your Resting HR was 69 bpm, and to get some Intensity minutes you'd need to reach and maintain for several minutes (used to be 10) the HR of ~150-160% of that (approximately 110 bpm, or even little bit more). That's not the case.

To get more IMs, you either have to exercise more intensively, or you have to wear the watch also during deep rest, or during the sleep - in that way, a lower Resting HR will be recorded, and the HR threshold for IM will be lower too.

  • Thank you! This makes sense because I stopped wearing my watch when I’m taking meeting and sitting.
