Tracking Golf Activity on non Golf Watch

I track my golf game with the Shotscope V3.

I still want to track the steps and calories burned with my Garmin watch.

Is it better to select Cardio or Walk for the activity type?

    Depends what watch model you own, and what you want to log, and how much battery power are you willing to use for it. If you have a watch with no GPS, then it makes no difference, and you can select any of them. If the watch has GPS, then the Walk activity will record also your track and distance, so I'd tell it is better. On the other hand GPS will consume more power than a simple Cardio activity.

  • I use the same setup for golf with Shotscope V3 and Forerunner 245, thanks for sharing. I tried tracking with the Miscellaneous app with good enough statistics. I can review track and distance on the map which is nice. As I do know the course I will try the cardio and walking apps as an alternative.

    Is anybody aware of a golf specific app for the forerunner series as other brands provide?
