Instinct 2 - Garmin pay not available

Just purchased the instinct 2 and installed the Garmin connect software on my IPhone.

I’m struggling with Garmin pay within the application. In that the option only appears when the Instinct 2 is on charge.

When I try and setup Garmin pay when instinct 2 on charge it’s states not connected. However when I take the instinct 2 off charge the Garmin pay option disappears.

phone is on the latest IOS, Garmin connect latest version along with the Instinct 2.

Ive tried unpairing, removing / adding the connect software back on but still the same issue.

can someone help resolve this, I would have purchased the first one if I’d have know.

Instinct 2 does not have the Garmin Pay option. Only the more expensive models like Garmin Instinct 2 Solar, Camo, Surf,.. have it. Check out the specs, if you do not believe.

yes its a scam they don't specify in the manual what model has it. you would think its just a standard feature in this day, but no no not with garmin

Instinct 2 does not have the Garmin Pay option. Only the more expensive models like Garmin Instinct 2 Solar, Camo, Surf,.. have it. Check out the specs, if you do not believe.

Thanks Trux, after all my research going from the instinct 2 to solar to fenix 6. Then back to the instinct 2 without solar thinking it was just solar I wouldn’t need due to the battery life.

Big mistake ‍♂️

All available features are clearly listed on their website, for each model. Garmin Pay is listed at then non-standard models only. Definitely not at the standard model.

This is written in the User Manual of the Instinct 2 series:

The Garmin Pay feature allows you to use your watch to pay for purchases in participating locations using credit or debit cards from a participating financial institution.

NOTE: This feature is not available for all product models

They need to display all the features of this watch series and for each model place an X in something is has not got. As its misrepresenting showing pictures of Garmin pay on a Garmin instinct 2 watch when you dont know what specific model they are just looking at the picture

Yes well as iv suggested they dont tell you what model it is in the manual as my post says!

It is in the specs, as I wrote. If you feel you've bought the wrong model, have it replaced for the right one. No reseller would refuse the upgrade.

Your using an alternative part of the website to where you would actually purchase this watch, if you view the watch in the line up this information is not included so its misrepresented.
