Bluetooth pairing issue with iOS

Since updating to iOS 15.4.1 my vivomove 3S watch won't connect or sync with my phone, despite having the latest Garmin connect app. My phone literally doesn't detect the watch through Bluetooth anymore. I've tried turning off my phone, turning Bluetooth on and off on both phone and watch. I've also tried removing my watch from the app but now can't add it again because it simply won't connect. Please help!

  • Try these steps below and in the video

    • Verify that you're running the latest release of Garmin Connect Mobile iOS.
    • In the Garmin Connect app remove Garmin - More > Garmin Devices > select your Garmin device > Remove Device
    • On your iPhone go to Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device
    • If you have any other mobile devices (phones, tablets) nearby and paired with the Garmin, also do the same there - Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device
    • If Garmin Connect IQ is installed on your phone, uninstall it.
    • Restart iPhone
    • Restart Garmin
    • Place your Garmin in pairing mode - depends on model, but usually hold MENU > select Connectivity > Phone > Pair Phone.
    • Pair using Garmin Connect, not your phone's Bluetooth settings.

If still no joy, contact Garmin Support

  • Technically, it’s half-paired.

Garmin connect app will not pair device to iPhone 13. This is my first Garmin device so I did the initial instructions.

Garmin connect app, iPhone 13, and 965 device is currently up to date.

Phone and device have been turned off and back on.

App has been uninstalled and reinstalled. The Garmin explore app was able to connect device to phone, suggesting it’s not a Bluetooth issue.
Device was able to connect to another phone (wife’s iPhone 14), suggesting it’s an issue with the app on the desired phone.

For clarity, when Connect is searching for a device it will just spin and ask me to type in what device I have. For the other phone, it immediately pulls up. I’m assuming that’s how it is supposed to work. My device is not connected to anything else. I updated it on the computer.

  • I fixed it by going into the watch settings and selecting Reset > Delete Data and Reset Settings.

I also ensured that the BT on my phone forgot the watch.

Started the watch and followed the prompts for initial start up.

Hope this helps others. I know it was a headache for me.
