I cannot switch off.

By pushing the upper Button apps are shown instead of Switch off

Yes, that is exactly how it is supposed to work. Switching the device off is one of the choices in the Apps list. Alternatively, you can press the button for some 20s to shut the watch down.

You can hold the light button until you see the controls and then use the up and down buttons to find the Power off control.
