Problems with Physio Trueup (Fenix 6 & Edge 520+)

Hi Kevin,

I've been using both a Fenix 6 and Edge 520+ to log my rides with physio trueup turned on.

Unfortunately both the distances and duration of the rides are 'double counted' in the information shown under Insights in Garmin Connect. But the exercise load was not, until a recent ride when the exercise load from both is shown in the 28 day exercise load chart in Garmin Connect.

Am I correct in understanding the with physio trueup turned on then these 3 items (distance, duration & exercise load) should only be counted once? (per https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=EjPECQK58qA0xzJ5X74vm7/)

thanks

  • If you log with both devices you will get double distance, duration etc. since you log two activities. You should only log with one device. If you log with two you must discard the activity on the one of them after you press stop.

Physio TrueUp is used to sync the data from the device that logged an activity to the other devices that wasn't used so all devices will use the same metrics. If you use two or more devices for the same activity everything will be very odd.

To get the correct load you must sync the devices before the activity. This is usually only needed for the Edge since it isn't always on like the Fenix.

  • Thanks for the clarification
