Is there a workaround for this ? I really want my move rings to update when I use my Garmin . All the other rings do fill but the move ring … I hate to use another app for this when it should just work. Anyone have any suggestions or a fix ?
Thanks

It seems that Strava have stopped allowing themselves to be used as the intermediary for this after the latest update and have passed the issue back to Garmin.
If you use Strava directly for the workout…
I really hope Garmin reads these , it’s only one fix needed as the workout and stand rings work , all the need is a start / end date for the calorie ring ..
Apple has nothing to do with it.
Strava has decided not to sync data they didn’t record to HealthKit. Since that avoids a lot of issues, I agree with that decision. (But I also get why some folks…
Richny, in order for your move ring to fill, your apple watch needs to see that you have hit your target in "active energy". Garmin does write their values for Active Calories to that field, (although in a way that often double counts or has other issuesO. If you look at the Apple Health App for Active Energy and scroll to the bottom you should see a button for all data. Look around in there and see if Connect is writing data. If not, then you need to give it permission. If it is, then your Apple Watch should update the rings from that data once it's written (which might not be when the workout gets sent over). I know you hate to use another app for this, but realistically until/unless Garmin decides to actually support Apple Health, something like RunGap is the way to go.
Thanks.. Its just weird that all rings except the move ring fills with Garmin, but even with Garmin to Strava to Apple health all the rings move.. Hope this fix this

If you use Strava directly for the workout it will update rings.
This is no good if you use a Garmin unfortunately.
Garmin need to sort this issue and allow Garmin connect to update activity data in Apple fitness.
Here's the reference for this statement: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216917527 "Please be aware that activities recorded from third-party devices (Garmin, Zwift, etc.) will not sync to Health." I'm not sure if that's a Strava or Apple decision. I opened a case with Apple, Strava and Garmin. I suggest anyone else who has the same issue do the same.

Garmin has decided that it is not worth the investment to have a full and proper Implimentation of HealthKit. All of these sync issues are completely theirs to solve. I would prefer they have a different stance, but since it’s been broken for years, it’s obviously not a priority. That’s why I recommend opening a ticket with Gamin. If enough people do, the connect mobile team might get the resources to fix it. (Opening a ticket with Strava or apple won’t solve anything).
Thanks for the explanation @WizardlyHat. Since I opened a ticket with all 3, I'm good, but let's focus on Garmin then! The issue is that Garmin would want to be the Health Data Aggregator instead of Apple Health, so I can see why they wouldn't put effort into fixing how their data goes into someone else's Health Data Aggregation platform.
All-
If you are experiencing the Activity Ring not updating after completing a workout, please refer to the latest thread for this discussion:
Apple Health Activity Ring does not fill after workout is completed on a Garmin device
If you are experiencing a different Apple Health ring not updating/completing, please start a new thread and specify the specific ring with which you are having trouble.
This is describing the same issue, but there's no solution in this other thread. DC Rainmaker has the long and accurate explanation, and Garmin still needs to fix their integration with Apple Health: Strava Abruptly Ends 3rd Party Data Sync to Apple Health | DC Rainmaker
Garmin-Kevin , what we need is Garmin to fix the calorie file that goes to Apple health, everything else appears to work and update the rings... Just not the calorie ring.. It could be beause the file does not have a end date stamp attached to it, im not certain but i hope Garmin looks into this. I can only imagine how many tickets are oepn..
