Cant connect Fenix5 watch to phone

Garmin connect app won’t recognise that my phone and watch are connected through Bluetooth. My iPhone is showing it as connected in settings. I’ve turned off Bluetooth and turned it back on. I’ve turned phone off and on. I’ve deleted and redownloaded app, but when trying to connect my watch to app a message asks me to turn Bluetooth on.
