Steps and HR data stopped syncing to Apple Health

Hi,

I've noticed that since sometime yesterday the Heart Rate, Steps and Resting Heart Rate data from Garmin Connect have stopped syncing to Apple Health (looks to have stopped working around 4pm yesterday) - other data such as Resting Energy, Floors Climbed, etc is still syncing though.  I have tried deleting the data that had synced yesterday to see if that forced the missing data to sync, but that hasn't worked.

Has anyone else come across this problem?  Is there anything that can be done to fix it or is it a general problem with Garmin that they'll need to sort?  Thanks.

  • Activities won't sync here anymore. Last synced activity was from the 12th. I seem to recall a new version of Garmin Connect coming out around that day.

  • Anymore insight on this issue?

My steps stopped syncing on 29 July 2022 @ 634am. It is only using the phone as the source despite having Connect as the priority source.

All other data fields seem to be syncing fine, just steps.

  • Steps should work.   Can you look at your permissions?   Go into the phone's settings - Health - Data Access & Devices - Connect, and make sure that the switch for "steps" is turned on.   Other than that I'm not sure what it could be.  (I'm assuming you turned everything off and on again already).   Garmin records steps in 15 minute intervals, so it is possible something else has priority (but unlikely if Connect and your phone are the only two sources). You can check "Show All data" for steps in health and see if Connect is recording something that is being overruled by another source (which you can set under Data Sources and Access" if it is.

  • The settings section is where I see that I am getting data for all categories EXCEPT steps and heart rate.

I have tried to turn it all off and on. I have deleted the app and rebooted the system before reinstalling. Still nothing.

This is the most bizarre thing. Steps stopped in July and HR stopped in September. Health is not showing anything from Connect in the 'show all data' section so it is not even getting overridden by another source.
