On the sleep tracker, if I wake up for an hour or two and then go back to bed, it does not seem to record my second round of sleep. Is there a setting to change this to improve it?

I am sometimes able to get a few hours of sleep in at work, then I come home and go back to sleep for a few hours. The Garman phoenix only records the first round of sleeping. Is there a way to change the settings to also count my second round of sleep? Or, is this an intrinsic malfunction of the device?
