Steps are not logged if you use a cycling profile. If you want steps then use a different profile and change the type afterwards in Connect. There will not be many steps logged since you are sitting on a bike and the watch isn't moving much. To get steps you will need to put the watch on your ankle.
Garmin measures real steps or movements that could be a real step. It will not convert activities to steps.
There is no distance since there is nothing on the bike that measures distance and sends that to the watch.
