VO2max is not updating in Garmin Connect for iOS

Since 27 November VO2max values are no longer uploaded from my Forerunner 630 to Garmin Connect (for iOS). I reached out to Garmin NL, they state that the device is “out of support”. However in this community I am reading other consumers with newer devices are facing similar issues. To be clear: the Forerunner 630 device is reliably updating VO2max values after each run, it is just the uploading that fails. Garmin, can you solve the issue?

    2. May we, if necessary, have permission to view/access your Garmin Connect account?
    3. In what country do you live?
    4. Is the VO2 Max updating on your device, but you are unable to sync successfully?
    5. Have you tried syncing with Garmin Express as well?

    Below my answers to your questions:

    1. It’s fine if you e-mail me on this topic.

    2. Also it’s ok for me if you accesss my Garmin Connect account.

    3. I am living in the Netherlands.

    4. VO2max is indeed updating fine after each running activity on my Forerunner 630 device. The value changed since the last successful upload to Garmin Connect, that was on Nov 27th. Since then uploading of VO2max is failing, while activities are uploading fine.

    5. I tried syncing with Garmin Connect using the USB cable to my MacBook (normaaly I am syncing wirelessly), that didn’t solve the issue. I didn’t try Garmin Express yet, will try and get back to you.

  • I have same issue. Last update in app is 1/12. Reported it to the support in chat and learned that others have the same issue and that a ticket is created to solve it. Let's hope it will be solved soon.

  • after you sync with Garmin Express and update us in this thread, please also include a photo of what your watch shows for VO2 Max and a screenshot of what your Garmin Connect mobile app shows for your VO2 Max.

    Synced my Forerunner via Garmin Express today (and installed new firmware for my Forerunner 630 on the go :-) ), but using Garmin Express didn’t resolve the VO2max uploading issue. To be sure I synced via Garmin Express before and after installing the Forerunner firmware update, this didn’t change anything on VO2max (non)uploading.

    Attached an image from my Garmin Connect App (iOS), last known VO2max value is from 27 Nov. The other image is from my Forerunner, last run was on 14 Dec. Between these 2 dates I did several runs, for all of these VO2max uploading failed.

  • We made a backend update to Garmin Connect yesterday.  If you export (from Garmin Connect to your computer) all of your runs after November 27th, then delete the runs from your Garmin Connect account, then import them back into your Garmin Connect account (from where you saved them on your computer), that should resolve your issue.

    If this does not resolve your issue, please start a new thread in the Garmin Connect Web forum.
